EIGHTH ANNUAL DORCHESTER OPEN STUDIOS
Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, noon-5pm
PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS:
All participating, registered artists will receive epostcards to distribute to your mailing lists. The success of the event depends upon drawing in viewers, much of which is in response to artists mailing these materials. If you have requested printed postcards on your registration form, those will be available for pick-up at 11 Pearl Street in early October. We will notify you when they become available.
THEDAC.ORG:
DAC is launching its new website and will use it to attract additional visitors to Open Studios. Registered artists will be listed on the website along with an advanced pdf copy of the program guide.
BECOME A MEMBER:
The DAC is a now a fee-based membership organization. For 2009, all artists who are registered and paid for participation in DOS are automatically DAC members. Although anyone from Dorchester can participate in Open Studios, the advantages of membership are plentiful and will continue to grow. Among these benefits are your own gallery page on the DAC website. Please visit thedac.org and follow the instructions to upload images, links, etc. to your very own gallery page.
GROUP SITE EXHIBITORS:
If you are exhibiting at First Parish Church or The Great Hall in Codman Square, you will be provided a space approximately 8 ft x 8 ft. You will not be permitted to hang work on the walls. You will be responsible for developing your own display using freestanding structures. Tables and chairs as well as access to electricity will be available. Please bring your own extension cords and lights. Floor plans of the site assignments at these group sites will be sent to you on or about September 20.
Best of luck to everyone and thank you for your continuing support in making Dorchester known as a vibrant arts and cultural center in Boston!
